Personal Support Worker
+ Internship (35 weeks)
This program gives the basic understanding about providing ongoing or short-term home support services for individuals and families during periods of incapacitation, convalescence or family disruption. Personal Support Workers are employed by government, non-profit and home care agencies, or are self-employed. PSW’s perform house-keeping and other home management duties in private households and other residential establishments. Companions provide elderly and convalescent clients with companionship and personal care in residential settings.
Through a series of real-life case studies and practical field training, you’ll learn how to:
Students will be required to obtain a score of at least 70% in each subject with an overall average of 75% in order to graduate.
After successful completion of the program, a certification from Windsor Career College and NACC will be granted.
This program is approved as a vocational program under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
This program is covered in seven months (35 weeks) based on four or five hours a day.
